Mathematics 8 (Grade 7/8)
5: Volumes of Solid Figures (8.G)
Students complete their work by solving problems involving cones, cylinders, and spheres. When students learn to solve problems involving volumes of cones, cylinders, and spheres, together with their previous Mathematics 7 work in angle measure, area, surface area and volume, they will have acquired a well-developed set of geometric measurement skills.
What should my child know and be able to do?
Students will:
Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres.
8.G.C.9
Know the formulas for the volumes of cones, cylinders, and spheres and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems.
